Default Fuel Guage error

I have a 2006 mustang vert and my gas guage is displaying 57 miles to empty. It does have gas as I just put 8 gallons in it. Is the car still driveable with that error? Will the car stop running when it displays zero to empty? thanks

No it will not stop running when it reaches zero.
If your car has it, I found the gallons used display handy and pretty accurate.

Do you ever run any fuel cleaners in the tank? Might be worth a shot. Do you run the better rated fuels, or the "cheaper" fuels?

I have an '05 GT, and more often than not I compare the gallons used to the gallons bought and it is usually pretty much dead on the same.

On the fuel cleaner thing. I've been doing that for many, many years, just had my 70th birthday for a clue. One car I had was a BMW with see through fuel lines. It was a '78 and sold it in '07 with near 270k miles on it. You could STILL see through my fuel lines. Over the years I was a BMW Club member, saw many a BMW with fuel lines no longer see through lines. FWIW
