Default Water Pump Replacement on 3.7L V6 2011 Mustang

Good morning all,

I've got a 2011 mustang with the 3.7L V6 engine in it that it appears to have a slow drip coming out of the water pump area. I've scoured youtube and other sites in order to try and see the steps for replacing it and have up come empty. I see other year models but nothing that looks like what I'm seeing on the front of my engine. It's a factory stock engine with no mods.

Can anyone point me to a video or instructions on how to do this? I'm not a mechanic but willing to learn but I hate to just start removing things before I have an idea on what I'm doing and where I'm going.

Thanks,
Jim

Call off the dogs......I found the information in a thread on one of the forums. The fellow uploaded 3 pdf files with pictures and descriptions of it step by step.
Exactly what I was looking for!

I don't have any personal interest but links to the forum pics/thread would be appreciated by other members here that may have a similar question in the future

Here it is......go down the 1st page and look for a post by RayBo You will see 3 pdf files that you can download.

If I remember correctly he expressed his OK to share this information. Even a cave man like me can follow these instructions.

Further note on the issue.

The mustang went from leaking a few ounces of coolant on my carport floor during the evening twice while it was parked to not a drip on the carport in the last 2 days and all I did was inspect and see an occasional movement of a tiny bit of fluid running from the area above the crank pulley dripping into the shroud at the bottom of the egine and adding about a 1/2 gallon of coolant to the reservior.

Apparently leaking and then not leaking?

The question now is do I do nothing and monitor the situation or do I go ahead and replace the water pump?

Thanks,
Jim

The water pump is playing games with you so replace it. According to Sod's Law, it's going to start leaking again more than ever at the worst possible time.

Default torque for water pump bolts

Can someone tell me exactly how much torque I use put on the water pump and thermostat housing bolts? Also one of the videos out there show using RTV on the gaskets. I'm not a fan of that. Thoughts? This is for a 2011 v6 Mustang that has a water pump leak.
