I plan on removing mine but I understand there are alignment pins/dimples so body work is required (saw on 'Overhaulin' too). Custom paint will cover that area but unlike 'Overhaulin' I intend to only disturb the small dimple areas.

06 GT 5-speed; black on leather parchment (due at dealer in about 10 days)

yes if u remove it u will have a 2 small holes i believe, i want to take them off as well, but its alot of time and expense to cover the holes, i'll wait perhaps something better like a cobra emblem will come in the future.

Curious, what is the reason for the GT emblem removal? Is it a sleeper thing?

Not a sleeper thing; at least in my case; 'head turning' custom paint work coming so the body real estate can't be cluttered with emblems. Ugly antenna will go as well for the same reason. Deck lid fake gas cap and lock will go too but only to continue with the 'smooth look'. ...and I hate 'fake stuff'. Hey FOOSE got rid of all this stuff; but it's been my plan all along.

06 GT; 5-speed; black on leather parchment. Pics will follow at some point...

AHH... the smooth look, I totaly understand. I personaly am going with the cobra emblems, I think with 480 hp it qualifies to carry the cobra...
What I don't care for is the V6 models swapping out there emblems for GT accessories, that's just wrong!

Well I agree to disagree, if you have a supercharged V6 and want to call it a Gt so be it, and if you have a supercharged Gt with comparable power to the '07 Shelby and want to call it your own cobra so be it, but I have a V6 mustang in my neighborhood that changed his emblems to a Gt and we all know him as
"The Poser"...

torchred: what is your reason behind putting on cobra emblems?
