Default Brake Rotors

Hi guys, I need help finding high performance rotors for my 2006 mustang gt. The car is stock and I was interested in the cross drill rotors. I know some are double and triple drill but don't know which was to get. Also need to know what are the best pads to use thanks!

Depends on the type of use the car will be seeing. Mine's purely street driven and I'm very happy with the cryotreated Powerslot front rotors and Hawk ceramic pads that are on my car.

I have Stoptech (made by Centric) Slotted on my truck and Centric Premium Rotors on the 2013 V6 Brembo. I also have the Drilled and Slotted Power Stops that were cracked between the holes that I took off my F150. I am also running Centric Pads.

I have the same rotors set up on mine, and have been very happy with them.

Cross drilled rotors have a tendency to develop spider cracks around the holes so they're best reserved for race cars where longevity isn't a major concern. For the street, slotted rotors are more than adequate.

We would recommend a good solid surface or slotted rotor. Solid or slotted rotors tend to be more user-friendly. We recommend going with coated rotors to keep them from rusting or corroding on the non-friction surfaces. We would go with solid rotors if this will be mostly street driven or with minimal track day or autocross use. For a solid surface rotor, we would recommend Centric black-e-coat CEB-120-61086 for the front and CEB-120-61087 for the rear. Another solid surface option would be EBC RK Black GEOMET coated EBC-RK7255 for the front and EBC-RK7254 for the rear.

For spirited street driving or frequent track day and autocross, we recommend slotted rotors. For slotted rotors, we would recommend Stop Tech Cryo slotted and black-e-coated. SPH-126-61086CSL for the driver's side and SPH-126-61086CSR for the passenger's side fronts. For the rears, they would be SPH-126-61087CSL drivers side and SPH-126-61087CSR for the passenger's side. EBC offers a good slotted rotor in their USR line EBC-USR7255 for the fronts. The rears would be EBC-USR7254. These are also black GEOMET coated.

For brake pads, we would recommend Hawk. They have various compounds to suit different needs. For mainly street and minimal track days or autocross, we would recommend the HPS 5.0 pads. The fronts would be HWK-HB484B-670 and the rears would be HWK-HB485B-656. These will provide better bite from stock and have a wide operating range. While they will have more bite they will provide smooth and predictable control.

If you would be doing track days or autocross fairly often we would recommend the HP Plus pads. Fronts would be HWK-HB484N-670 and rears would be HWK-HB485N-656. These would be a little more aggressive than the HPS 5.0 and extend the temperature range for those track day and autocross events.
