I have a 2006 S197.
She puts 500hp to the rear wheels and I drag race 4-6 times a year. I have already heard the T5R55 5-speed automatic transmission is a weak point and I can attest to it. Blew it once 3 years ago. Upgraded with steel input, hefty pump, better friction material etc, but was told it is still a weak tranny. I have probably put 5K since complete rebuild and raced 30 times down the quarter. She is now having trouble with reverse and fluid is dark and has debris. HELP, any thoughts on upgrades. She is still a grocery getter so dont want a turbo 400 or powerglide conversion.

You could consider getting the stronger 6R80 from an '11-'14 GT.
