Looking to purchases a 2008 gt convertible with 140k miles for 8 thousand. Does this sound fair? Thanks

It depends on the overall condition of the car and whether it has a full service history. If it's an automatic, that price is definitely too high 'cause it's likely the transmission is near the end of its life with that high a mileage.

When my '08 Auto GT Coupe with 125k milles was totaled last year, the insurance company paid me $15k for it so, $8k sounds like a steal. I took damn good care of the car though and it was a coupe, not a vert.

Have the top thoroughly checked out and as Dino suggests, make certain the car has a thorough set of service records. Check so see if the transmissions been touched at all...if there hasn't been any maintenance on it or it's been only recently, walk away.
