2005 Mustang GT window issue
Hello All.
I have had my 2005 mustang GT since new.
just today at a car show my windows would not stay up when I turned the ignition off.
basically they would go down upon turning my ignition off and opening my door.
have un-plugged the battery and also tried the window reset.
any suggestions would be greatly appreciated on what the issue is.
Thank you

By window reset, I assume you are referring to what is discussed here:

This is the first time I have seen the "de-initialization" part, which could be something to try if you haven't yet. Also interesting to see someone reference cell phone interference as a reason for discontinuing the feature (hadn't heard that on before either).
Beyond that, I'd be suspicious of the Smart Junction Box that's famous for water damage (it controls a lot of non-engine electronics). That's behind the front passenger-side kick panel. I'd inspect that for signs of corrosion/water damage.

I do believe the issue lies within the voltage level of the battery.
I left my battery on charge over night and re tested the windows. All works fine now with a fully charged battery.
my battery is 5 years old so maybe time for a replacement.

So I just ran into a new wrinkle to this window losing its mind issue on my 2007 Mustang GT Convertible. I'm the original owner so I've run into this issue a few times over the years after batteries died in the middle of winter (when its parked and covered). Usually the normal "reset" procedure fixes it, but today, (with a well charged battery) the window on the drivers side drops down when opening the door...butttt.....after a few seconds of the door being open....the window goes back up as if the door was closed. So I lower the window, run the reset, and it does it again...and again. I have to lower the window, close the door, roll the window up and climb out the passenger side to lock the damn thing. Passenger side behaves normally.
I will attempt the "de-initialization" next, thanks for the post! However, if that does not work, any ideas on what would cause the window to just go up while it is open???
Thanks.
JJ
