Default Trunk light...heads up!

In a discussion last week I found out I did have a trunk light and it wasn't working. I finally got the car in today and it turns out its a "smart moduale" that controls the circuit is bad not the bulb itself. So be aware if your trunk light quits it may be this causing the problem rather than a bulb and mine is being replaced under warrenty. He had to order the part so its not fixed yet. I have an 05 premium v6 convertible with 5,000 miles on it.

Yea...

Ford needed to cut pennies off the cost of making the mustang.. the Hood Light is one of those cuts.

You're welcome...even the service guy taking care of me seemed surprised that this "smart moduale" was the problem not a fuse or bulb. Evidently they are learning new things about the 05's themselves, the indication I got when he explained how and what they found not working! Thus I felt it was something to mention here in case you find that trunk light not working. I am glad the other service guy I talked to the week before said they wanted to check it out because it may not be something as simple as the light bulb and he figured they'd need some time to find it.

I started that "cool" thread because I was sure we'd find out more things about the Mustang you didn't read in the manual. I read the whole manual and have been surprised at things they don't mention.

I noticed that also. I also read the manual and there's all sorts of cool features they don't mention. I think these cars are remarkably well equipped. Some of the features I could care less about like the power adjustable mirrors and driver's seat. OK, so it doesn't have an underhood light. Those stupid little under hood lights are always in a location that renders them useless anyway and if you really want one go to a wrecking yard and yank one from another car and install it yourself.
I think Ford put together an amazing car for the money and there's no other car, domestic of foreign that for the same money that will match the accleration, handling, breaking and styling of the 05/06 GT Mustangs.
