Default RE: Changing wheel size question

everyone is correct. Let me clear it up for ya.

Tire and wheel changes do not NECESSARILY affect tire diameter but it CAN, if you are not conscious of the aspect ratios of the different tires.

STL_Atty - yes, the speedo recal is a simple adjustment which you can do yourself with a handheld tuner. NI'm not positive but I think that all you you have to do is tell the tuner what size the tires are it will do the work for you.

Regardless, you can measure the circumference of your tires with a piece of string (then you meansure the string). Compare the measurements from your old tire to your new and you will have your answer.

ORIGINAL: Hammermill

Sorry to offend you but you did state"Wheel change by itself does not change tire diameter" That is an absolute statement which is not correct.
Actually, If he only goes to a wider wheel it is correct! I love being the devils advocate!

PW I like my site better than the string idea. :P

Thats is neat, never knew about that one.
There are some differences in results I noticed tho.
Actual Speed: 60 mph 100 km/h My site said 60
Speedometer1: 60.4 mph 100. km/h My site said 59.5

The replacement size I used was ever so slightly smaller diameter, which would give you an actual speed being slower, the 1010 site said actual speed was faster, thats not correct.
But both said .8 too fast. I just woke up so my thinkin could be a messed up.
stock size 235/50/18 to 255/45/18

Either way you get the general idea I guess
