Default Next Mod: Dash Kit

Ok, so I've decided that I need to put in a dash kit (and I'll be putting it on myself, god help us all.) The main reason for this is that with the red shift **** I got from our man SatinSilver05 (which rocks) the rest of the dash looks too plain now. So SatinSilver05, if I f*** this up, it's all your fault.

I've seen kits from a few manufacturers and I would assume they're pretty much all the same, but I do have to make a decision. Brushed aluminum to match the IUP, or do I go over the factory package with that fine-*** looking satin nickel? I'm leaning towards the nickel because I think the aluminum is too light. I wish I could find one in titanium, but I reckon satin nickel will do.

Has anyone installed one of these kits and is there anything you want to tell me before I begin?

BTW, the kit I'm looking at is HERE

allfyre.

I got my pieces from them..

I have to warn you that the "Real Aluminum" which is what I have, is truely thin aluminum. so if your looking for that smoothed out edges you get with some of the other materiels THIS will not be what your expecting.

I bought 2 kits to get a custom look... Real Aluminum for the centeral sections, and Red/Black Carbon Fibor for the rest.

Hey professor, thanks for the reply. I kind of figured that might be the case with the real aluminum, but I ordered the satin nickel kit anyway so I'll see how it looks when it gets here. I ordered the full kit, but I don't know how much of it I'm going to put on yet, I'll probably just do the center console first and see how I like it, then maybe add some other peices later.

Your kit looks great, as does the rest of your car and I know you know your stuff so if it's good enough for the Professor, it's good enough for me. The real question here is how do you think this kit is going to look with the pink and green paint job?

Hey Allfyre,

I have the satin nickle kit sitting in my home. I ordered it and then changed my mind about installing it. I'd happily sell it to you if you are interested. It is the full kit, will all parts, including doors and console. Let me know if you are interested.

Sorry man, I was away for a couple of days and it looks like they already shipped my kit. Time to put it up on Ebay. Out of curiosity, what made you change your mind about putting it in?

I decided to keep the car stock, for the most part, right now. I didn't want to do anything to the interior that couldn't be undone later. The only thing I can't readily replace, to make the car completely stock again, are the factory wheels and tires. I sold them when I got my other wheels and tires. This also means I probably won't be getting the Saleen SC anytime soon.
