Check the newest issue of 5.0 Mustang & Super Fords. They have a good comparo. I bought a K&N Aircharger kit-one of the few that doesn't require a tune. Very happy with the results. No check engine lights. K&N claims a 15.26 HP gain, the magazine article actually got a dyno increase of 18 HP without a tune.

I bought my tuner from Brenspeed.com. He was great and I am going to buy the air intake sometime. The air intake is a JLT one and the customer service is GREAT!

jbailer,

Pretty much as I figured, I did some reading on OBD-II and learned a lot. I remember when OBD came out most people thought it was an end to hot rodding your car, several magazines did articles on how restrictive it was. My last new Mustang was a 1997 GT which ran a best of 15.0@93, that car was a dog but then had only 215HP so I didn't expect much.

I'm not going crazy with this Mustang, I have the 5 year 75,000 mile warranty, free tires for life plan so I don't want to void the warranty. I haven't decided what CAI to go with yet, the looks have to match performance, the one used with the Diablo looks pretty kick butt to me but I'll wait until Spring time.

Thanks for the info!

Goldenpony,

I've looked at the K&N, not sure what I'll do until I discuss this with my Ford dealer, even though K&N et al claims there won't be an issue with the warranty, I need concrete proof prior to purchase.

Edit, I checked their CAI out, looks good, not sure which tuner I like better, the Diablo or the SCT...
