Default HELP-Trunk getting stuck on 2005

Anyone having their trunk getting stuck on the rubber seal. My dad has a 05 mustang. Says he has taken it several times to the dealer. Guess the auto trunk button will work, but the rubber seal gets stuck on the trunk. He said they checked and re-adjusted the spring for the trunk, but no go. I was hoping to find him an answer.

Thanks,

RSTdesign

a few posts about fixes for this on the forum. Here are two:

1) put a light coat of wd-40 on the seal all the way around
2) put a light coat of silicon lubricant all the way around the seal

Do not use WD-40.

WD-40 is a penetrating fluid, not a lubricant.

Keep a midget in the trunk to pop it open when it gets stuck. Great fun at parties too.

I rubbed a very light coat of Silicon Lub on my rubber seal around the trunk lid... works wonderfully now!

Can someone describe the Silicon Lub for me? Spray, tube, can, etc. I'm going to have to go to a German store to find it and I need to be able to translate what I'm looking for. They never have what you need on base!!!

Thx...

Look for a can like WD-40, but it's silicon based, instead of petroleum.
