Default Tinting

I havent tinted before and have a couple of questions. Should I tint sides and back at the same %? What % looks best, I dont really like the completely blacked out look, I guess Im looking for a medium-dark tint, but do not know what % to ask for (ie. 5%, 20%, 35%)...... Or should I just go for the darkest allowed in our state? Thanks.

For most states legal is 35%. Not dark enough in my opinion. 5% is limo dark...basically blacked out. I'd go with 20% all around...looks good and is dark, but not so dark as to get too much police attention, or affect your night time driving abilities. I've had 20% all around on my cars for years without a problem.

A couple tips....get someone really good to do it, very easy thing to do poorly and it'll look like crap. Also....check out the threads on scratches (use the search feature), I got them on mine. They're minor and you can't see them from the outside, at least not without pressing your nose to the window. Also...mine's a convertible and a summer/spring/fall car, they're not up all that often....but they look good when they are!

Where I am from, any shop will, seems it's not illegal to put it on, just to have it on....don't ask me why???? Just call and ask.

Most shops will use any tint you want but you will be responsible for the ticket when you get pulled over.

you can google and find the legal limit for your state. i must agree with 05vert... 20% is good, ALSO- VERY IMPORTANT... get a shop that will give you al ifetime warantee, if you dont you'll be regreting it 5 years down the road when your tint is purple and peeling and you have to blow another 200 to get it redone
