what are these A plans and X plans and all that everyone talks about? how do you get them? thanks

 

Im not sure about the A plan but I got the X plan because I work for a GE money company. So since I worked for GE they honored that and gave me a discount.

You also have to show proof of employment from the company that gives you the eligibility

LOL ^..... this is true. I do work for a company that allowed me to get the X-plan but they never asked. I just told them the company i worked for and they generated the pin # for me. Never once asked for proof that i worked there.

 

hmmm.....is there a list of companies that get the plans? im in the market for a new job....

My understanding is the x-plan pins can be given to family and friends. Employees are given a certain number of pins per calendar year and they can give them to you if you provide your address and last 4 digits of you SSN. If this is the case X-plan numbers should be easier to get now at the beginning of the calendar year. I have heard that it is up the the individual dealers whether they will sell you a GT on the x-plan. The key is to call around to find one that will. There is no such requirement for X-plan PINs. Each year he is given so many that he can hand out to ANYONE he wants (and is encouraged to do so by Ford). Now the A-plan ones he gets are different and are ONLY for employees and their immediate family.

Purchasing on the X plan is perfectly legitimate, not under the table. It is for friends and or family of workers or retirees. If anyone is going to be purchasing you'd be foolish not to take advantage of the offer. A forem member gave me one to use when I purchased my 04 and it saved me over $5,000.00. If you're in doubt call your Ford dealer and tell him the details.
