Default Legit????

I have been researching the mods I may possibly install on my 05 GT in the near future....so needless to say I've seen more than my share of interesting aftermarket stuff. But many of the items I've come across have gotten no mention on any of the forums I've posted on...so I'm gonna post a few prospects here and see if anyone has any first hand experiences with them....or have heard feedback on them from someone else. If not, I would appreciate some honest opinions on them nonetheless.

The AeroTurbine axlebacks look like snake oil to me - although I have those exhaust tips (bought from that very site) and I really like them.

Wish I had the bucks for the driveshaft. BMR is a real company and has a good reputation - I'm sure you'll hear good things from plenty of folks here who've got their suspension goodies (also on my list of future mods). I've purchased from lmperformance before and would (will) do so again.

Link to the hood gives me a broken page.

Sorry bout that last link. Looks like their website is down at the moment. Maybe try it tomorrow. This is the only picture I have of the hood saved:

Holy Molly, $850 for the hood... High priced but I want one. This is probably the nicest hood I've seen so far. I guess if you got the bucks, go for it.

I have only heard good things about MRT on other mustangs so I am sure they are good for the '05. The driveshaft is good. The hood looks good but is a little expensive for me.

Yea, I agree the pricing on the hood is off the wall. But since I've seen it no other hood strokes me quite as much. I love the idea of doing a 68 Shelby look while most everyone else is doing the 67.
The carbon fiber driveshaft looks awesome......but until I hear that someone has proven it either in tests or on the track, I'm reluctant to fork over a grand for it.
And the MRT Aeroturbines......well I went to the Aeroturbine site and it looked interesting. Guess the only reason I was considering is that everyone seems to be going with the same few brands of pipe (tho, for good reason of course). But who knows if it actually works the way they say it does...

There are better ways to make your car faster than spending $1000 on a drive shaft, I doubt you would even get a tenth of a second from a CF drive shaft. Look into headers, underdrive pulleys or other proven HP making parts.

What JD said. If you're dead set on getting a CF driveshaft, though, there are cheaper ones to be had, like this one:

Actually, I wasn't interested in HP or torque gains. I'm trying to put together a list of mods to make my drivetrain bulletproof........i.e. able to handle as much stress as possible. I don't intend to make a monster stang.....but I am looking to put an extra 100-120 horses on the dyno. And I simply want to insure that my doing so doesn't compromise the life of my engine or transmission. Either way, i'm not seriously considering the CF driveshaft at this time. Just wanted to know if anyone had heard anything about it. It's just too expensive.
