Default How to remove fender emblems?

Do you have to heat them or soak them or something? I dont want to scratch the paint?

According to my paint shop these are a 'glue-on' emblem. You just have to heat them up and they come right off.

Actually you don't even have to heat them up. Although it does make it easier.

You can go behind the emblem with an old credit card ( not one you ever intend on using again ) or a piece of heavy test fishing line and it will peel them right off.

I'm just relying on the info provided by the body shop...and they say no holes. But we'll know soon enough (as they come off next week). I'll keep you all posted.

I can tell you first hand, if you have a GT, there are two locator pin holes in the fender behind the emblem.

351 pony--your body shop is wrong--the old body style were glue ons--these will leave holes in your fender, u will need to fill them and repaint.

Oh no...that doesn't make me happy. Where are the pins located in relation to the emblem and how far apart are they? I'm just trying to determine whether they'd be coverd by the new emblems, or if indeed I'll need to have them filled and painted.

there are a few options out there--Roush will fit in the holes and i saw another that said STANG that will fit in the existing holes as well, im not sure exactly where the holes are in relation to the emblem--u could pull it off and see, believe me if they were a glue on mine would be off already as i hate emblems, keep us posted on what u decide to do.
