2006 Chicago Show
Ford's display seemed to lack a little when it came to the mustang this year. There only four or five mustangs there all of which had the bullit wheels. I was surprised that none of them had the fan blade wheels since they were new for 2006. I didn't even see any modded mustangs like there was last year. Oh well, a lot of the attention was given to the white with blue stripes shelby GT500 that was on display. That car is even more amazing to see in person. It was fun to stand by the mustangs and watch as a line of people waited to sit in them. All of the people saying how much they wanted one of the mustangs and all the mean while standing there knowning that you have one waiting in the garage for you at home. It was great. I even overheard a few people talking about how they thought that the mustang captured the retro look better than the challenger and camaro. I'll never get tired of people commenting on how nice the new mustang is.
These are a few pictures I have from the show.

This year's show was a lot better than last year in my opinion. With a lot more car manufactures being moved into the adjacent hall, there was a lot less conjestion. You could actually move around the show freely without feeling like you were walking on someone's heels. It was also a lot easier to take pictures of the cars without some idiot walking in front of the camera just as you are taking a picture.

The Shelby should have been completed better. No side pillars ,nothing special to the interior, and a cheap little SHELBY emblem in the corner.Whats up with that?Ford better bring some of us in to help with the design. Before they have to close more plants.I agree there were no Saleens or Roushes this year. The Ford Rep wouldn't even open the hood of the Shelby.

I agree about the Shelby lettering. I know alot of ppl didn't like the prototype that had the big Shelby lettering centered on the rear deck, but I feel that would have been the ballsy way to go. I guess I'm just one of those ppl who preferred the GT500 in its prototype form. I still wouldn't mind having one though[sm=wootwoot.gif]

I like that GT 500 beter than the red vert model they showed here in LA. But it still looks like something anybody could put together on their own today, especially the back end. The front looks the best. But the sides? There's nothing done to them! I think it needs at least that B-pillar removed to give something different.
Did they say they weren't calling it a "Cobra"? Does anybody agree with that? Why not if it's covered in Cobra badges?
