Default The PERFECT subwoofer for 05/06

Wanted a sub without taking away too much space so the wife won't kill me so I did
some research and found THIS one........made by SCOSCHE , it's a 12" sub and fits in the
side as snug as a bug in a rug as you can see from the pics below.

Got it on a 500W Memphis Audio amp which is JUST right for a little more thump

damn! I was on that website today and didn't see that woofer (was looking at the Nav systems). Good find!! Did you get them installed yet? If you did, post some pictures if you can. I've been wondering what to do about the bass in the Shaker 500. My stereo guy is not too good doing custom subwoofer boxes, he just like using the regular square ported subwoofer boxes, which I didn't want to use.

That amp is way more than you need for that sub. Just keep the gain down. I would expect the MTX Thunderform to be better quality, despite being lower powered. The enclosure is larger as well, so it would likely play deeper with better sound quality. It's a bit pricier though.

I recently emailed JL to see if they are planning to produce a Stealthbox for the 05 and if they could provide specs. I hope to hear good news if they consider it worth their time to respond.

You will like the fit of the Scosche box. I have had one for a few months now. Sounds twice as good as the skipper1000 subs did and takes up less space.

Are these things plug and play if you have the shaker 500? Or must they be hard wired in?

And also with this Schoshe... or however you spell it haha....... what kind of sound are you getting? The direction of projection uaually makes a difference. For instance, my best friend is running 3 12" Audiobahns facing away from the cabin to get the reflection off of the back of the car body and they hit hard enough to stop a pace maker. (of course with that much thump it wouldn't matter which way they faced ) and yes i do understand that sound projects in all directions haha.
With the "perfect fit" sub facing sideways, are you getting the proper resonance?

I heard back from JL. Nice guy I talked to. They are starting development just today in fact. They were first considering a dual 10W6V2 in the stock sub location, but they are now looking at doing a single 13W6V2. He didn't give an ETA to market, but I would guess they'll have it out by summer.

I won't jack your post anymore Dusti.
