Squeaky Handbrake problem

I have a 06 GT and the freaking handbrake button squeaks all the time. What can I do to cure this problem?

I had the same problem. I pulled the housing off and trimmed up some dynomat to fit the sides, had to play around a bit to get the cover to fit back over. No more squeaks.
