Default Powder coating

I looked around and im not sure where I should post this so since I have an 05 ill do it here for now....if it needs moved please let me know. Ok, I was offered this week to have my wheels powdercoated black....for free. Question 1, would any of you recomend this? 2, will it look good and could it be clear coated? I don't know much about this that is why I asked. Any info would be great. Thanks

My original plan was to get the wheels that you have and power coat them black. My GT came with the 18 fanblades though and I'm not sure if I want to power coat those or not.

I think it would look good.

I don't see how you can clear coat powder coated sufaces (...and have it stay on). What is the clear going to adhere to (bite into "chemically")? Why do you want to clear coat it? ...it will be plenty shiny and I can't see why you'd want to put a softer, more vulnerable surface over highly durable PC?

I guess I don't, for some reason I had a picture in my head that the finish was rather dull, thats why I asked for you help Thanks for the replies, I am taking them in tomorrow.

No problem, ask to see a couple samples; you should see plenty of gloss.

Powdercoating comes in many finishes from flat to gloss black. You`ll be safe with just the colorcoat. Now IMO the black would be to dark,I would swing towards a dark pewter/graphite.

I'll keep that in mind when I go up to check it out tomorrow. I see your point, also, EVERYBODY has black bullets it seems like, so something just a little different would make mine unigue in a way.
