Default Hmm, decklid panel emblem

Has anybody actually removed this themselves? Its a 3-piece thing, the first 2 parts popped off fairly easily, but the biggest section on the bottom is held on with a monster piece of 3m tape (expected) and two tabs like I've never seen. I called CDC, but the guy on the phone knew it was different from the S197, but wasn't familiar enough himself to give me a good answer.

"Just heat it up and pull the emblem off" that the local dealership told me just isn't going to cut it. Yet again, very obvious they had less than no clue what to do.

pain in the mother fukking *** is what it is. i used dental floss to loosen all the 3m adhehsive tape around the perimeter, but you cannot get the center tape due to the design. it took some major prying.

The deep-dish pizza pan on the trunk.

WAY BIG PAIN IN THE ***!!!!!!

Once you get past the 2 sided tape its "snapped" into the trunk lid. I had to just break mine off and order a new one. P.S. once off there are 2 big holes in the trunk lid.

BIG PAIN IN THE ***!!!

It seemed like breaking it would be a shockingly good option, but I worry about damaging the panel itself. I'm covering it all with a CDC blackout, but I'd like to leave it in relatively good shape, covered or not.

When mine finally broke off, the deck lid was perfect. All your breaking is the little plastic fittings. Be aware that the deck lis IS NOT smooth under the emblem. It has a large, raised up, flat portion with 2 holes that the emblem affixes to.

I took mine off to run the stripes under it. I also took out the brake light, sat antenna, grill, ect....

Good luck, youl need it.
