Cool pony package grille help

okay so i looked after searching for awhile and coming up empty i figured i would cut to the chase and ask the question already.

will the american muscle billet grille fit cleanly over my oem pony package grille?
should i just spring for another oem base model grille and attach the billet overlay onto that?

my wife's dd so im not really worried about cutting it for more airflow and all. should i just try the install with what i have now(pony package grille)?

Actually, sorry, the currently available grilles won't fit over it. You will probably have to cut off the pony and the bar.

or you could also buy a base grille and use that since they are cheap enough..... this way you dont have to destroy the nice pony package grill.

Yeah, If I had the pony pkg grille I wouldn't cut it (you would need to). I believe you can get the regular big pony emblem type grille (like the 1 in my sig) from ford for under $40.00 and then cut that instead. Either way for the v6 you have to cut it and save the outer portion to connect the billet grille to.

I don't know why they don't have the same setup as the GT with grille inserts, but they don't and they don't fit over the ponies...

Does the GT grill fit the V6? My GT grill is just sitting in my garage.

The GT grille will NOT fit the V6. I've already tried it. Ordered it and it's completely different, not even close to fitting. I also think the Pony package grille is a different size than the regular V6 grille also, but I could be wrong on that one.

I tried putting the billet grille over the pony package grille, and it doesnt fit. I would recommend getting the base one from the parts service at the dealership, you can get it for 60$. I cut my pony package one and regret it cause it cost 300$. So call your dealer and use the base model grille. Thats what i wish i would have done. and i reccomend putting painters tape on your bumper when you take the stock grill off cause i scratched the crap out of my bumper.
