So as I deal with the repairs to my 2010 i'm thinking of updating to some 2011 styling.

Specifically the 2011 has a painted border and a bright chrome pony.

Does anyone know if the grill comes pre-painted and what the part # might be?

Other than the lighter-colored pony, the grille on my 2011 Mustang GT looks exactly like your 2010's. I'm not sure what you mean when you say "painted border." Are you sure you aren't confusing the 2011 GT with something like the new Boss (its grille "border" in painted body color)?

 

I went to the dealership and noticed that on the 11 GT the frame on the grill were painted to match the body. The most prominent parts are the left and right sides of the trapezoid.

Are yours flat black?

 

you must have been looking at a GT/CS ... although if it had a Pony it may have been a V6 ??? 2011 GT's look identical to 2010's ... except for the grill pony.

 

Perhaps you're right. What I think I would like to do with mine is get the painted frame of the CS with fog lights of the standard GT. I'd also go for the bright chrome pony.

Suggestions on how to proceed?

 

I had mine painted. the grill surround is hard plastic so it paints well. Unfortunately the grill itself is a bear to remove from the surround all those push in clips.

 

Love it! Did you have the top of the CS lower Vallance painted too? It looks great. I like that you omitted the lower fogs. Do you have any more pics?
