Thumbs down Pypes v6 dual conversion kit

Man im so disappointed I bought this kit. The look is fine I guess but the drone is unbearable! From 1800-2100 rpm it drones but then there is a sweet spot like 19-2000 where it's he worst! Guess what my rpms are at 70 mph? You guessed it! So no I would definitely not recommend this setup to anyone. Figured I would post this on the site since am will probably censor my review.

Sorry to hear that man. You should try to get some GT take-offs from a junkyard. Usually the sixxers dont sound as good of course, but they can still get a little bit of rumble

Or

Edit: didnt realize you had a 2010.

If you switch out the mufflers to GT mufflers, Problem gone. The NTO kit with the exception to the mufflers is made by Pypes (x-pipe and over axle pipes) So the issue has to be their mufflers. I have the NTO kit on mine and have no drone whatsoever. They have been on since July 4, and I have put 6000 miles on since new!

So would it be cheaper/smarter to just buy new mufflers or install resonators?

cheaper to get mufflers I say..cause they just bolt up..if you got resonators..you will have to cut out the pipe and have them welded in and that will cost more money. I think that newTakeoff got GT mufflers for like 99bucks for a pair

look aroudn and see if you can find a set of gt500 mufflers. Those are what I have on my car and theya re quiet until you really get into it. They sound perfect for me. Have to be 2010 though, so it may be challenging

Yea.....it's the mufflers that are causing the bad sound/drone....I tried a set for a day.....hated them made my car sound like a honda too lol Kinda

BUt I have GT takeoffs....they sound great imo!
I have been thinking about going with some borla stingers though bc IMHO they sound like a louder version of the stock mufflers which is why I like them. Not to mention ONE GT muffler weighs more than both stingers lol

well i was looking at my brother's 2010 gt and examining the muffllers.. the tips seem a little small to me going from 3 1/2 to 3.. the shelby valance seems a little wider at the exhaust opening. Don't know what im going to do now. maybe just go with the resonators and get it all welded if it sounds good or spend about the same on one pair of mufflers right?
