Default 2011 Premium Cluster on Base GT?

I really don't regret getting the base model 5.0, since i want to customize it my own way, the only thing that I would really like would be the Premium Gauge Cluster with the mycolor option. Mainly cause I like the way the white with the red looks, plus the rmp red "shift light".
Can this cluster be replaced and would it work with the standard buttons to change color options ect.. ect... ?

Regarding that red shift light ya'll mentioned...what does it do?

I know it's there but does it serve any practical purpose other than to show where you are reving too much? Does it light up or anything?

Shift light = time to shift your gear for idiots...

I dont' see why you want that light, most people try to find ways to turn it off?

It's not a shift light it's a redline warning.

LOL.... yea...I think I can figure out when to shift......

So does it light up when you've reved too far? Or should I just test it myself?

Well thanks for the clarification, if you know when to shift, then why do you need a light for redline???

My initial impression remains.

Call it what you want, it's a shift light...you shift as you reach redline so you have maximum power but don't over rev the motor... A shift light is based off the same theory, It just normally sits off to the side by itself. My parents 1985 1/2 escort wagon had the same type of light. The only difference was it didn't turn the whole gauge red...

edit: although it is a cool twist...

I was not aware that the REDLINE was the proper time to shift. Guess I've been doing it wrong all these years ...
