Has anyone put hood spears on their mustang? I'd love to add some stripes, but the super snake stripes are a little to much for my personal liking. What color do you guys think will look best? I have a Sterling Gray and have the white rocker stripe on the side which I don't mind removing. I'd post a picture, but I'm still a rookie and don't know how. It's in "my garage" if you would like to view it.

I had a window tint shop install them for a very low cost.

I also like the look. Yours look a bit thinner than a lot I've seen... do they come in different widths?

If you don't mind me making a recommendation to your mustang... take it back to the tint shop and have them tint your front yellow lights. I had mine done and it's a great look. It'll look great on your red, and really bring out the black accents.

 

Depends on who you buy them from.

 

If you get hood spears, I recommend only getting those that actually fill up the side of the hood dome.. That said, I couldn't find any so I had a vinyl shop do it.

 

Jimmy that looks great! I love how perfect they fit. Would you recommend dropping the white rocker stripe and getting the flat black spears on my sterling gray?

 

If you're going to do flat black spears, definitely remove the white rocker stripes

BUT, if it were MY car, I'd leave the white rocker stripes and add white hood spears, only because I think it'd look awesome and unique. You can easily find many SG with matte black stripes/spears, but you sure as hell won't find another one with white spears.

In the end, it's your car though. I prefer contrast (my car reflects that), so that's what I'd do. Either way, you can't go wrong with Sterling Gray

 

I Just called a Decal shop. They said they could custom fit the spears. I just can't decied between white or black... I wish I was good at photoshop lol.

 

The "hood spears" come in a lot of different configurations. The second pic attached comes from:

They and others also will do custom lettering on the spears. Some use 305HP or 3.7L etc. I used the spears with the "pin stripe" surrounding the spear.

Thanks for the suggestion on the tint. I have been thinking about that.

 

I love mine. Adds contrast to the hood
