Probably because lava red doesn't look red at all lol.

Definitely looks like purple in those pictures at least.

I'm not digging the color at all. Definitely think sterling was a far better color.

 

it replaced the sterling grey, but i still was able to order a 2012 5.0 in sterling grey.

 

That is sick!! I picked up a 2012 brochure yesterday... I noticed they had some new interior colors. One of which was black with "Lava Red" inserts. I'll grab a picture of the booklet, lol.

Doesn't look like it will be much of a match to the exterior color. It is a dark, dark red though.

 

That color is GORGEOUS in person! Pics don't do it justice at all....it's just like Kona Blue, you really can't get a grasp on the vivid-ness (is that a word? lol) of the color in certain light.

i placed the order back in december, maybe i got away with it because the factory had the paint still? they just got done building it two weeks ago so its on "rails" as they call it to the dealer. i wont be able to pick it up until im back from Korea(im staioned here) in may, so excited!!!!!

 

Reminds me of the boarders of my Samsung TV, ToC. I like it, very different.

 

I haven't seen it in person, but from pictures thats exactly what I thought too. Kona is kinda blue-purple, that looks purple-red.
