Default Dull Clear Coat

So I bought a GT500 spoiler from 3D Carbon about 5 months ago. It was great looking at first when I put it on. I washed and waxed it right away but now its fadded or dull looking. It doesnt shine as much as the actual trunk or the rest of the car for that matter. It doesnt have any scratches or swirls in it at all. Its bugging the hell out of me. How can I get the shine back without taking it off or repainting it?

Also washing and waxing it doesnt do anything to bring the shine back either.

poor quality clear coat. try some haze remover, but that may not do the trick. as a last resort, buy some 2000 grit sand paper and wet sand it. go in even lines, then polish it up with a good rubbing compund. if it's still dull, you have to respray it.

If you are worried about sanding, run it by a body shop or a good car detailer. Either one should be able to get the haze out pretty quickly.

Like python said, I would start with a haze remover, that and a little elbow grease may just take care of the dull finish.

I personally like Meguiars products, not too costly, readily available. Here is a link to their cleaner/polish products. Good luck.

If you wanna just try some Megs Ultimate Compound, SwirX with a yellow applicator and then clean off with a microfiber towel to see if it brings back the shine..could just be getting oxidized somehow. Can get any of that stuff at any auto parts store
