Why Do These Tailights Look Different?

If you skip to around 0:30 seconds on the video above, you can get a look at his tail-lights. I keep looking at his rear taillights, and I can't quite distinguish how his are different? I like the way his rear looks better than most of the other taillights I see on the 11-12 Stangs? Anyone know what he did?

It looks like the white back up lights are extended vertically on the car in the video, they go from what looks like the entire top to bottom of the tail light fixture rather than the stock ones that have maybe an inch of red on top and bottom. Might just be an illusion though because his are lit up.
You might like his rear end more though because the fascias are painted black rather than left as the stock ABS plastic feel and texture.
