2013 Rear Tail Lights?
Hey guys! New to the forum ;p
I am just days away from getting a new 2012 (or should I wait for 2013??). And I had this idea. Is it at all possible to get the new 2013 rear tail lights on a 2010-2012? I mean they seem to look the same size with just the new concave look.
If so, answer these for me
1. Is it even possible?
2. If so, who would make/supply them? AmericanMuscle?
3. How simple would the install be?
Hopefully this is a good question and not a stupid one! Because the new rear tail lights on the 13' are sexy! Anyways I appreciate the responses in advance!

The rear fenders and decklid APPEAR to be the same, so I would think the new tail lights would fit. However, it looks like you may need the '13 bumper to do it. I doubt anyone is going to know before the '13s hit the lots though.
Even if they won't fit I'm sure there will be '13 style tails to fit the '11s.
And for awhile the only place you will be able to buy those tail lights will probably be through Ford and I'm sure they will want a hefty price for them.

Glad im not the only one! I definitely want to know. And as far as waiting on buying, should I wait for the 2013? "Apparently" there's a new front fascia look and 8 more horses. Which for the amount of money I'd save getting a 2012 instead, I could put a performance mod on there and BOOM.... ~10 more horses.

The front bumpers are new on all models, the gauge cluster on the premiums (not sure about the base cars) and all the trim is black plastic trim is painted to match like the '05-'09 GTs. The only model that got a real power post is the GT500. The hoods are different on some models as well and a few new colors were added.
New line up, V6, GT, and Boss
The new painted rocker moldings look good, IMO.

I'd wait till 14 and go anniversary.
That's what I'm doing. As soon as the 50'th anniversary Mustang comes out, both my current ones are GONE and I'm going to get a fully loaded 2014.
Unless Ford screws it up like Chevy did the Camaro.

If you got the dough and really like the 2013, go for it. On the other hand, from what I've been reading in other threads, the 2012 are going for cheap now. Can't remember the exact price, but one member mentioned that he saw a 2012 GT Premium for about $30,000-$31,000. Unfortunately, I paide $34,000 for mines..
Well good luck, and as long as you get a Mustang, you will be good to go

The roush racing team put the 2013 taillights on their 2012 car and there is a small gap at the bottom using the stock rear valance. this would probably annoy me. you can tell the angle on the bottom of the new taillights are not as extreme as the current ones.
Honestly, I'm just going to wait so I can do a whole GT500 rear valence with the taillights. that rear on the new GT500 is just pure sex
