I'm wanting to strip some wax off my car to put on a couple items i bought that stick on with the 3m tape.

what is the best wax to thoroughly remove the wax so i can get a good bond without damaging the paint?

Any kind of strong soap works...yep dish detergent is a good one. Which is exactly why you normally don't even wash with dish soap, since it removes all protection from the car

Clay Bar. Cleans the wax and the dirt of the surface. Its your best bet. Then you can wax back over all of it.
