Right now I'm still waiting for my hog ring kit to come in, which should be tomorrow so I've only done the rear seats so far since they don't require anything besides a socket.

Entire rear seat install took me 1 hour. Would have been faster if I didn't get stumped at a few parts such as removing the headrest posts.


What a difference it is between Cloth and Leather!


On the convertible there are only 2 13mm bolts. One on each side, as opposed to the coupe which has bolts in the center as well. Once the bolts are out, just lift the seat upwards and you will feel it unhooking from the frame. I got stumped at this part because I couldn't figure out how to remove the seat backs after I unscrewed the bolts.

To remove the headrest posts, it's just like removing headrests from the front seats on most cars except the button you squeeze is inside the seat, just under the cloth. I really should of taken pictures, but the install was so fast and easy that I forgot.

One weird thing about these takeoffs are that the front seats came with the foam padding. Not really sure what I should do now... if I should keep my factory foam or replace it entirely with the takeoffs, but then that would conflict with the sideairbags... I'll figure it out later. Since these are takeoffs, they already have cutouts for the seatback recline lever unlike the Katskins cover.

Also, a tip on getting the seatbelt receiver through while placing the seat bottoms back on is to put your seat belt through the seat bottoms and latch it onto the receiver. That way you can just pull onto your seatbelt to get the receiver up through the seat bottoms.

Once I get my hog rings and review the install video some more, I'll post up pics for the front seats.
