Default Billet Grille

Be advised; 2013 V6. If you order the $169.99 Modern Billet Grille (2) piece, it will not fit if you have the pony package. I found out the hard way this weekend. I ordered the combo (upper & lower) grille for a V6. The lower fit just fine but the upper will not work. Because this is a grille insert not a replacement. The surround is missing from the new grille. Has anyone else had this problem?

Are you talking about the American Muscle grille? If so, since the 2013 v6 and GT have the same front clip, it should fit both models... You take the stock grille apart and use its housing for the replacement grille.. Didn't your grille come with installation instructions??

Yes it came with instructions BUT my grille has the pony package grille which is different. The honeycomb does not seperate from the surround, it's all made together. There is a section just for V6 on their website and that is where I chose my grille from.

Sorry but they all don't. I had my whole front end off, bumper and grille. What I'm talking about is the honeycomb separating from the surround it is all one piece on the pony package grille. Base model maybe different.

Here's the thing........

I have a GT, and a swap to the California Special was a yank off, and put on.

Supposedly there is a surround attached to the bumper or some crap, because I know people have done the other way around. GT putting on a MCA grille, or a V6 putting on a Cali Special, and they always mention needing to get this "surround" from Ford.

Obviously in my case, it was a simple pull off put on, since both are "GT" parts.
