HID fog light install

HID fog light install
Installed a 3000K HID kit into my fogs today. I think it turned out well. Hardest part was finding a place to mount the ballasts. Finally found a place that was out of the way and didn't show through the grill. Best part was I didn't need to drill. I've seen an HID fog install thread that showed the guy drilling into the frame to screw a mount on. I ran out of zip ties. Need to add another tie to the ballast but you get the idea. Radiator diverter piece still fits.

Those look great. I'm looking to do that to my car but I have the V6 fogs (under the headlights). Would you mind a couple of quick questions? What wattage did you use (35w or 55w) and how bright are they from behind the wheel? White fogs just seem totally useless to me.

They are 35W. Those are probably more than enough. The 3000K kit is over twice as bright as the stockers to me. A 55W kit might be too much for the smaller fog light housing you have. Housings and wiring might not be able to handle the extra heat.

They are great so far. Exactly what I was looking for. Hope they last. It was a sub $70 kit from Amazon. Not 100% sure on durability but they had good reviews on Amazon and have a 2 year warranty with good customer service per reviews. Oh, make sure you get the slim ballast kit if needed. Not sure if space is tight or if there are many mounting places for the ballasts near your fog housings. They were worth the extra price for my application.

You shouldn't have drill anything to mount these. We supply hardware to mount them, but also 3M double-sided adhesive.
I used the 3M doublesided adhesive pads on my 2007 GT and called it a day

They look a little 'browner' than the headlights.
In my world, these should almost match.
Yours do not...
Zip ties and 3M tape are the quick and easy way out.
Zip ties look out of place under the stangs hood and
the 3M tape is sure to let go over time unknown to
the owner unless 3M 4298 adhesion promoter is used.

I know you don't have to drill. Just saw someone on one of the other Mustangs forums do it. Not sure how it is by the fog housings on your car. On mine there is no place flat and big enough that I trust to use double sided tape to mount even a slim ballast.
