Default Just bought a 2015 V6 Mustang

All my readings, and You-Tube videos, say that the 2015 V6 Mustang, comes with a 4-mode Drive selector. However, hitting the dash board lever brings nothing up. I do have a 3-mode steering choice. Which I can bring up. But not the drive modes. This has been a disappointment for me. Watched several You-Tube clips were Mustang owners say they really like the drive mode feature. They say it makes driving their Pony that much more fun. This pony is my 2nd Mustang. My first was 1971 Mach1, I got in 1973 when I was 17 yrs. old. My Mom had to co-sign the loan. Ride had the 351 Cleveland motor . I put headers on it, and the largest 2-barrel carb. that Holley made. You sure don't see many cars with headers now days. Not with all the environmental laws.
All my readings tell me that the 2015 V6 came with a 4 mode drive mode selector. But no matter how many times I flick the mode button, nothing happens.
Do those mode buttons go bad and have to be replaced ? Or is something else the problem? Can it be fixed so I can check out the drive mode feature? Boy there sure is a difference between my 1971 Mach 1 and my 2015 V6. All for the better ! Any feed-back on my drive mode issue will be appreciated.
Oh , I forget to mention that I also put "traction bars" ( think that was what they were called ) by each rear wheel on my rear axle.

I don't think that all have the modes available. Base level models don't get some things. And the V6 in the S550 was the base model with limited options.

Thanks for your reply. Also have another question. How can I tell if my V6 is a S550 ? I posted in the S550 forum because I couldn't find any other forums for a 2015 V6. A "S550' was notspelled out on any of the paper work ( Car- Fax; etc.) when I bought my car. What exactly does "S550' stand for ?

The model years 2005-2014 are the "S197" platform.

The model years 2015 to date are the "S550" platform. The 2024 model year will introduce the S650 platform.

The designation simply refers to the chassis that Ford uses for the model year. Nothing special about it within a model year (in other words, there isn't a 2015 S550 V6 as a model option).

Thanks for the info. Learning on this forum. Now another question, does Ford have any "work-a rounds" to install drive modes on Mustangs that are lacking. Already have the button (lever) in place, just need the electronics. I think.
Thanks.

Sorry, I can't help you on that question.

Can you post a picture of the levers you mentioned though? I'd like to see what you are specifically referencing on your Mustang.

On bottom of dash are toggle switches . On left side round button is 'start/stop", from left to right "emergency flasher" , "traction control on/off, steering feel modes ( normal,sport/comfort) and toggle switch that just says "mode". But when I press the far right switch nothing happens. I'm guessing that's supposed to be the "drive" mode switch. But it doesn't respond. Why would Ford take the effort/ money to install a "mode" toggle switch that doesn't do anything?
Thinking about going back to car lot Monday morning and asking them about this. It hasn't been 30 days yet since I purchased the mustang, so I wouldn't have any labor charges if needed. Also , today the car had been parked for several hrs., and I noticed the emergency flasher was blinking. And no one had been near the car since I parked it. The emergency flasher on/off toggle switch being in same location as "drive" mode button.
Your feed-back to my problem will be appreciated. Thanks.

Thanks for the picture.

With the "mode" lever you should have the ability to change driving modes. If the car didn't have that ability, that set of buttons weren't in the car. Are you able to change the steering feel? Your display is an aftermarket unit, so I wonder if the prior owner replaced that panel when installing the display with one with the optional settings?

Or, if your steering lever works, then maybe there was something not connected properly to the panel when the aftermarket unit was installed.
