Default 2011 V6

I have a 2011 V6 automatic transmission, and everytime I floor it the car starts smelling horrible. Does anyone have this on their 2011 v6? Could it be that my car only gets driven like 5 miles a day and only on the weekdays and only drives for less than an hour a day? It only has 2,400 ish miles on it.

That is exactly what it smells like, I even brought this up to the dealer when I bought the car and they told me "thats just how mustangs smell." Is this bad that my car smells like rotten eggs when I floor the gas pedal or go fast?

ouch I think I would be in tears if I saw my car like that man, I hope they do a good job :/ Best of luck on that, and I don't blame you for leaving, that is like seeing your newborn child on the operating table...

New GT500 wheels....brembro's on 14's....that is BEAST! Did you get the 2011 SVT Gt500 wheel?

yea, its normal. AFAIK catalytic converters work by getting hot and burning up the bad emmisions from your engine so that the bearded tree clam wont go extinct. When you burn stuff it smells. Eventually (like in 10,000 miles) it will not smell as bad. You need to floor it more. Or less.

Mine does the same thing, although I've found that running on Premium lessens it a bit. It IS getting better with age, my car just turned past 3000 miles this week and it rarely smells anymore.. I think the problem is that our ridiculous 2.73 gears cause the engine to lug a bit more than it should, generating more heat and setting off the Cats. Of course I could be wrong there. But yes, hate to say it, it is normal, but it is fading for me with age running Shell 91.

Thanks guys, I had been putting regular grade gasoline in my car since I got it but I recently decided to switch to mid-grade. Since I never really drive the car other than to school and back it might take awhile to completely switch the tank to mid-grade fuel. If mid-grade dosn't work for the smell I guess I will try premium and then if that dosn't work take it in.

Thanks for you help guys, appreciate it. BTW, my car is 5 months old since I got it.

I don't think I've ever smelled rotten eggs, but she's been drinking 91 octane since her second fill up so mabye it does help.
