thanks 6+6, paying attention to your opinion of the Airaid.

^great looking intake very oem in appearance just curious as to why you have the filter sock on it? also what are your impressions versus both the mmr&your homemade setup? I like the airaids design so much I'm really considering ditching my jlt for it or maybe steedas kit.

The Sock..PRE FILTER...is super thin, it does not restrict any air, saves even longer cleaning of main filter, just hand wash it...looks nice too....welcome jhawk...jumped on it today too...makes some noise too..wowser...

Just got mine installed. Tight fit is right, but I appreciate the tight tolerances. After futsing with the assembly per the instructions, I threw the instructions to the side and did it my own way. Took 'er for a spin afterward. Yeah baby! ...like most report, pretty mellow at idle and low throttle. Lay into it though, and it is noticable in sound and results.

I have the SCT tuner still sitting in the box for now. Will wait until SCT gets everything straightened out with the firmware update before I throw it on there.

I have not been able to make the SCT software work on my Windows 7 computer at all. I use an older XP laptop for all my SCT work. That works fine. I just updated and installed new tunes with no problems doing this. Mabey Chris can shed some light on thes for us.

All my MS machines are Windows 7 64-bit, and I haven't had a problem with the SCT interacting with the tranfser device. However I have to also wait for the new firmware too since the current version won't work on my car.

So if I buy the tuner. It is not plug and play. I will have to download an update?

It is but there is a chance that you will temporarily disable your car due to some data error that will affect some vehicles. SCT is working on it right now. They just updated their software, but it's the firmware we really need that will resolve the problem. I am waiting for the firmware since I was impacted by the issue and required SCT send me a recovery file to make my car operable again.

Ok, so I should wait to get the tuner? Second thoughts suck, No way to know for sure if I will have a problem. What did Chris at AM have to say?
