Traction control, does mine work?

Traction control, does mine work?
My car is a 2011 v6 with an auto trans. It has 3.55 gears and an 87 octane Bama Tune in it. Otherwise it's stock. The only other change is the tires. I bought wheels and tires used and I don't know the size of the original tires but the new ones are 245/45/R17s. These are two inches shorter than the originals. Before I changed them the older setup would spin the tires pretty good in first and chirp them in second and that's even worse now, it's like changing the gears again. And this is all with the traction control on, I thought traction control was supposed to keep your tires from spinning when it's turned on??

Traction control tries to keep the car from losing traction due to operator input. Key words being "tries" and "operator input".
Try starting out into a 90 degree turn in first gear with traction control on, and then off (it's down near the shifter, front most of buttons). It is very obvious when I have it on or off.
Stop lead-footing the throttle and you'll peel less.

well......like with my custom tune my tuner turned off trac control permenant, may want to plug your SCT in and see if enabled? And with me in my OLD '10 GT...if you have tune....Ford ain't helping you....better return to stock if take in cause a tune to the ECU will void your warranty......TCS beelow
Traction control system (TCS)
Traction control is a driver aid feature that helps your vehicle maintain
traction of the wheels, typically when driving on slippery and/or hilly
road surfaces, by detecting and controlling wheel spin.
Excessive wheel spin is controlled in two ways, which may work
separately or in tandem, engine traction control and brake traction
control. Engine traction control works to limit drive-wheel spin by
momentarily reducing engine power. Brake traction control works to limit
wheel spin by momentarily applying the brakes to the wheel that is
slipping. Traction control is most active at low speeds.
During TCS events, the stability control light in the instrument cluster
will flash.
If the TCS is activated excessively in a short period of time, the braking
portion of the system may become temporarily disabled to allow the
brakes to cool down. In this situation, the TCS will use only engine
power reduction or transfer to help control the wheels from
over-spinning. When the brakes have cooled down, the system will regain
all features. Anti-lock braking, and ESC are not affected by this condition
and will continue to function during the cool-down period.
The engine traction control and brake traction control system may be
deactivated in certain situations. See the Switching off AdvanceTrac
section below.
If you should become stuck in snow or ice or on a very slippery road
surface, try switching the TCS off. This may allow excess wheel spin to
“dig” the vehicle out and enable a successful “rocking” maneuver.

Yes I did figure I'd have to reload my stock tune before going back to the dealership. It was a good idea to remind me anyway.

You guys kill me. What a bunch of sorry wusses. I'll bet the ddealership foams at the mouth, knowing that they can intimidate you like that. Turn in your man cards.
A tune cannot disable or affect the TCS from functioning. My dealership never said boo about my CAI & tune whenever I was in for any warranty work.

Yeah, gives the option to toast it. I've never done it this way, but this is what it sounds like. Pushing the button might show it as being on, but it's disabled with the customized tune. Have to re-flash to get it back functioning.
And yes, screw dat flashing back and removing stuff, my CAI and all stays as it's flashed when I bring mine in.

I'll crawl on back to the GT forum. I just have this bad habit of crawling right back...
Thanks for the support, conejo172. But my skin is pretty thick (matches my skull...)
