Wow... Mpg win
3.50...hell tell where that is...was 3.49, when i went work, same station when i got off 3.60...real world...... your getting....22.5 to 23 if you are having any kind of fun while driving to work..if you claim you are getting 25 to 28 driving to work you must starting on a flat road, staying on it, w/o stopping. and driving 60 or lower, cold weather eats up mpg's until car is warm, then even when warm will still be lower..so wait til summer , should be even better mpgs. but yeah these will get 30 easy on highway at 65 to 70 w/o braking and taking off
I drive up and down grades.......45 to 55, roads are straight...then 70 on belt line that is pretty flat but has 1 to 2 degree hill areas....24 miles one way...best I can do if don't step on at all..coast on down hill parts....27.....come up home, stop and go....speed up slow down....25 at the house...but if I just run it up the rpm range, let the borlas hum...downshift into 5th and 4th when running 60...having fun, making noise...solid 22.5 all day long..87octane.
I've been scouring the forums the past few months, and it seems like some might have a proclivity to put out the mpgs better that others. I just got mine, and while I'm only on my second tank, pretty easy freeway driving (m/t with 2.73 rear has only yielded about 25mpgs. I've been keeping tabs on my mpgs using a spreadsheet for as long as I can remember, and have kept track of a few wranglers, a Dakota, liberty, BMW 328, mazda3, etc. I know here in Washington state that average mpgs goes down during the winter months. So I'll be anxious how the new car stacks up after it gets broken in.
Umm I'm actually averaging between 25.2-26.7 mpg and thats about 10 miles city driving and 28 miles highway daily. And while i generally cruise right around 70, I allways romp on it getting on the freeway both ways and usually stoplight-stoplight off the freeway. Also my driving route has plenty of hills mixed in so yeah 25+mpg is easily attainable.
Last year driving to hilton head with my silver 3.7 which had 2.73 gears 6mt heavy 20" tsw wheels my wife&I plus luggage we got right at 29.9 going there 29.7 coming back and thats crusing at 80+in quite a few areas plus lots of around town romping on it inbetween stoplights and there are PLENTY of hills inbetween norcross and hilton head. So mpg is figurative or elusive to calculate lol
I think as others have mentioned the cars seem to get slightly better mpg as they break in.
I just crossed 3000 miles two tanks ago and my first fill up over 3000 was 25.7, then 26.2 then last sat 26.7. And these are all running on premium and actual miles driven divided by gallons consumed.
Of course my mods may help a little seeing as they help the motor breathe better on both ends of the intake/exhaust cycle?
On that note I didn't notice any decrease when I took the mmr cai off and went back to the stock box before switching to the jlt so who knows? Oh yeah I also shift right at 3K since I've been running premium where I used to shift around 2500 on regular 87.
The way gas is though I may go back to 87
I really like the way the car feels sotp on premium though damn it.
edit you guys/gals might find this hilarious but i'm averaging better mpg then my wife&sister who both have 2010 kias one forte coupe and one soul both autos with the I believe 2.0 engines lmao

Then Obvious something wrong with my ride cause last 2 days I don;t go over 70 and no doging and solid 23 MPG 46 mile round trip...that is daily driving, only resetting gauge every fill up....right at 12 .XXX gals.....335 mile on trip meter....which equals 27, but gauge says 23.....right now babying it......137 traveled...214 to empty..
I haven't counted how much per tank, but I don't mind checking after my next fill up on the way home.
When I calculated overall, half highway and half city, for about 5k miles, average was 27.6, and I don't hypermile, and I do get to have some fun driving. I always use 89 octane, though, never 87.
I do have to resist temptation often, though, but I can still have fun every now and then.

It's a fun car though, and even just cruising around the V8 rumble is wonderful
Hey guys, im getting a little worried hearing about how good of mileage you guys are getting. I have a v6 manual 2011 mustang with 2.73 gears, all stock and im only getting 17 mpg while driving 40 percent highway and 60 percent city. I baby the gas pedal and get great mileage out of other manual vehicles, but I just cant get my mustang to do any better. I use 87 octane and reset the computer every time i fill up to see if there is any improvement. I only have 1700 on the odometer thus far. I have yet to change the oil so Im gonna do that tommorow and check the filters, but other than that i dont know why my mpgs are so ****ty. Any ideas?
