Personal bests on a single tank...
he's driving from virginia to my town in north carolina.........all down hill lmao
Anyone else Notice if you live in NC...why did all the Texaco and Chevron stations pull out of this area?.. When I run Chevron or Texaco w/ Techron I get about 50 miles more per tank on a trip??? Someone trying to sell me on Exxon...heard bad things about them...and I don't like the Ford recommended BP..so I only Pump Shell 87...might see if the 89 is worth the extra .15 cents next time. not look for performance, just better MPG's.....Hmmm, let's see.... .15 cents x 13gals= $1.95 = about 3/4 of a Gal. = so a $1.95 would buy me, if I ran 87 and extra 20 miles more, so for me to jump on the 89 octane....I would need to see a 2 MPG increase at least...if I messed that math up someone help a brother out LMAO

I do drive a lot more highway miles than city miles. I do tend to speed some, but there are so many police along the roads I drive, I just set the cruise control and go the speed limit because it just is too expensive to pay for all those tickets I used to get.
Actually it seems like it's slightly uphill going to Raleigh and downhill going to VA. That makes sense since I'm driving toward sea level. However, my best tank was actually driving from Hampton Roads to DC and back. I was driving around 65-70 except where the speed limit was below 65. I get worse MPGs driving back and forth to Raleigh simply because the speed limits are higher.
When I take the back way home, more from the Durham area, and then ride along Route 58, my computer frequently tells me I'm getting 31-32mpg, so I know I'm probably doing even better than that.

I'm not sure yet. That tank of gas was last October before I had a CAI or tune. I believe my overall MPG average is higher now with the CAI and tune, just not as high as my peak was that particular time. Maybe now that the car is more broken in I won't see that high a mileage again either. Time will tell.
Most miles on one tank:
446.4 Miles
4 Miles to E
14.798 Gallons
30.16 MPG
Best MPG:
218.0 Miles
6.419 Gallons
33.97 MPG
MT Trans
2.73:1 Rear
235/50-18 Tires @ 35 PSI
91 Octane Ethanol Free G100 gas

Mostly highway driving (drive 75 in 65 and 65 in 55 zones) up & down east coast of Wisconsin into Illinois, but spirited off the line around town but once cruising in traffic try to keep RPM's around 12-1500 RPM.
In 17,972.7 miles I've burned 611.109 gallons of gas which is an O/A average 29.41 MPG.
If I would have never bought this car and continued driving my 2004 (26.07 MPG O/A average) I would have spent $280 more on gas since May 23, 2010. Based on this savings to date, I'll save over $2,000 in gas if I keep this car for 6 years (like I did my '98 & '04) and continue to drive 400+ miles a week.
