Question on procharging
#11
I've been running the ProCharger on my V6 for a few months now. It was a little shaky at first working out some of the issues I ran into. I had some alignment issues that they were able to correct but it took some work. I think it's all corrected now.
A couple considerations you might want to factor in.
One, the ProCharger email tune is simply a stepping stone until you get it dyno tuned. It really is a very conservative tune. I can tell it is pulled back quite a bit on timing. I can run high 12 second quarter miles but my trap speed is consistently around 108 mph with racing slicks and hitting 1.8-1.9 second 60' times. Cars that have been dyno tuned are trapping @ around 113-115 mph and in the 12.5 second 1/4 mile times running worse 60' times. The good news is they're not sending out wreckless tunes. The last thing they want to do is send you a tune that will blow your motor.
Two, factor in a clutch, flywheel and after market driveshaft right off the bat. Given the issues we've seen on broken stock driveshafts with simply tunes and CAI's I wouldn't think of making one hard run on the stock unit. Way too much of a risk.
Other than that I would say it's an incredible setup. The car is insane. I go in for a tune and have a couple things up my sleeve they'll be installing and testing on the dyno in a couple weeks and hope to be in the 470-480 rwhp range when it's all said and done.
