Default TSB Question

I have read there is a TSB for the GT's about any performance mods voiding warranty. what I gather is that people are getting tunes and blowing the #8, so Ford put out the TSB. Does any one know if this applies to the v6, I want to get a CAI and a tune and am wondering if I am going to go to a stealership and pay out the wazoo to keep my warranty by getting Ford approved performance parts. Thanks in advance.

Ps: I have a '12 v6 not the one in my sig, need to change that

We don't have 8 cylinders, so I think we're safe. All joking aside, this topic has come up in some other mustang forums. The TSB is specific to the 5.0, but Ford is becoming more of a stickler toward modded cars coming in for warranty work. The cylinder issues were due to some early tunes, and I believe all tuners have fixed the issue. Bama went as far as guaranteeing that if their tune causes a motor failure they would replace it. As for our beloved 3.7L, no one has blown an engine due to a tune AFAIK. I've got over 30,000 miles, mainly using the 93 race tune and no issues so far.

You just need to find a mod friendly dealer, and even if you buy Ford performance parts, Ford can still claim they caused the issue. FRPP is not Ford.

FRPP is not ford but another thing you can do, at least in Canada is find a shelby certified dealer and buy/install some parts through said dealer. I have a local Shelby cert. dealer that has told me that if they install the parts they will be covered under the powertrain warranty of my car in any ford dealer. Trying to see if I can get them to install the Airaid CAI I already own and then just put in my own Bama tune. Sure it would suck paying for installation but it sure beats a voided warranty.
