BTW, 50 ft lbs of torque is a big difference (18.5% more).

I can get 26 MPG on the highway if I drive the speed limit; even with my mods.
I got 32MPG door to door on the way home last night, 90% highway, about 35 miles, cruise control set at 60MPH.

You're at worst 51% front - probably closer to 50% - and you've still got $2-3k of cash in your pocket vs buying the V8. If Ford made any mistake here, is that it priced the V6 PP a little TOO cheap vs the V8, so there's lots of mod money still in the piggy bank.

Spent a lot of time thinking this one over before placing my order. All my previous hobby cars were "big hammers." This time I want to have enough power, but crisper handling and braking too. Good thing they make 'em both!

[NOTE: "Enough" power is subject to change without notice!]
Weight distribution for the 3.7 is 54/46.

Yeah, Ive had several people. Mostly with pre 2011 Mustang Gts go "Oh, its just a V6?"

And then after I dominate them they usually make the next turn or avoid eye contact afterwards.

30.4 Mpg is great too.

Of course I have an aftermarket suspension & gears, but I've only spent 29K for everything on my car (19K for the car), by installing everything myself. My car is a daily driver. Think about what the Boss 302 is, a high horsepower, high revving V8. But mine didn't cost 55K, and it does not have the "give me a ticket" stripes and body color that Ford makes you have if you buy the boss.

Well see here's the problem, people say "Oh Procharge my V6 and it is faster and still cheaper than a V8" which is great, but the game never ends. I could buy a Fox for 2,000 and dump 12k in it and it will blow the doors off of a procharged V6. Or in the same way, I could start with a civic hatch and throw a turbo'd K20 in it and have you looking at my tail lights all day long for under 10k, and I'm sure gas mileage would be terrific. So really, you are starting to play a game that never ends. Some people buy a V6, some prefer the V8, now I happen to prefer 8 cylinders and 3 pedals, but I can respect the person that buys a V6. There is no need to get defensive over it and nobody should have to justify their purchase.

From afar now I tend to see something that people will generally do i.e. mine with mods was xxxxx dollars cheap and yours was xxxxx dollars expensive. I just figured I would point out that a Boss 302 in Canada does not cost 55k so I am sure in the States they run 45k maybe. Hell I bought a brand new GT500 in Jan 09 for a hair over 49k which would have been 40k USD. On the gas mileage thing I attained 28.2 mpg driving it through the heart of the Rocky Mtns. Oh I ordered mine stripe less as well so I to fly under the radar.

For the convertibles at least, that isn't the case. Someone here had his 2011 V-6 'vert corner-weighed and the front/rear distribution comes out to 52/48.

The coupe should have a similar weight distribution. The Cyclone has an aluminum block and it looks like most of its weight is behind the front axle.

My price was based on a 2013 Boss LS out the door + license and taxes, from the Ford ordering page. I'm not quoting prices for the purposes of cheaper vs expensive comparison, but to compare two high reving power plants that, with some mods can be equivalent, but without the markings and paint that ford thinks everyone wants. If I could have purchased a Boss LS in DIB or Sterling Gray, without any stripes, It would be sitting in my garage. Also, everyone buys a GT, and I wanted to be different. You can count the number of Procharged V6 mustangs on two hands (maybe 2 hands and one foot by now) so it is a very select group. CFM performance has a V6 mustang soon to be in the 10 second range. I like the twisties, so I'm not to into straight line speed. Thats why I installed Corbeau LS seats and lots of suspension mods.

My tuner loves my car for the same reasons I do, I still get 23-25 MPG, but the car handles, and accelerates great. Weight distribution is essentially 50-50 in a v6 coupe. I just installed Koni yellows, steeda springs and strut mounts. Check out the Shelby GTS, that is what i'm creating, and was creating even before Shelby thought of it.

I get that from my friend with an 05' GT. With all the mods I've done, I pull a few lengths on him easily. He shuts his mouth.
