I would like to know if it's possible to upgrade the throttle body with an 85 millimeter or 90 millimeter? The biggest one you can get from American Muscle is 73 millimeters. Question is will an 85 or 90 millimeter fit on a V6 intake with no modifications. I do realize I will definitely need a bigger coupling going to the tubing for the CAI. I do have a Magnaflow GT500 quad tip axle back exhaust, air raid synthflow CAI, and am running a race tune. I do understand to do this I might need some heavy-duty fuel injectors.

 

I haven't been able to find anything for the 3.7 over the 73mm..anything larger than that is made for the GT.

 

I am actually going to put the 80mm GT on mine, I just have to drill out the holes and take the fins out of the intake.

 

Thanks for the response. Let me know how it turns out. I'd definitely like to try the same. I was hoping the holes on the 85 millimeter which is for the GT would match right up but I don't mind grilling if I have to.

 

Not sure why you want to go so big on the TB? I don't even think your intake tube is that big?

The bottle neck on the 3.7 is going to be either the heads or intake manifold long before the TB will be unless you're going with a Super Charger or Turbo.

 

On another site I go to there are a few that are running the GT 80 mm with nice results, the Intake where the throttle body bolts up is 80 mm already and they will even run and adapt without a tune.
BBK sells the 73 mm for $400 and I got my GT 80 mm off of Ebay brand new for $85.
I do however think going bigger than that is not necessary and a bit of overkill.
