Alright, like i said before in a different post, im looking to do a budget build up on refreshed 351w block. Originally i wanted to do a 393 with parts from summit racing because me brother gets a really good discount from working there. I looked at their online catalog and found a complete bottom end kit for a 408 stroker. The kit costs 750 with his discount which i think is very affordable. The only downside is the kit comes with hypereutetic pistons. My question is, should i still go ahead and get the kit or should i keep looking for a kit that comes with forged pistons. I Do Not ever plan to run nitrous or a blower and the compression will be about 10-1 max. What do you guys think?
from what i have heard you can push a lot of power from a 408. if the motor will stay N/A you won't need forged internals. also going forged is expensive even with a discount.
