351 Swap question???help

351 Swap question???help

I was thinking about putting this 351 i have in my 1992 ford mustang,,,,,,would i still be able to use my transmission? will it bolt up and work? its a automatic AOD................

the manual did in my '88 soooooo.... i'm gonna guess yes.... [:-]

I see all these post and help guides about the 351 swap but none if its a automatic,,,,, thats what makes me think it wont work?????

Naw... manuals are just more fun to drive... not faster than a preped auto, but more fun... in my opinion...

Question.........In all these guides about the swap it talks about making the 302 heads work, never talks about keeping the 351 heads. why?

The flexplate that was used with the AOD should work fine.

You can't use the stock Flexplate. It is 50 oz imbalance while the 351w is 28 oz. You can get the correct one from Ford Racing, TCI, JW, or any of the other trans companies
