Stock 5.0 is front sump with the 351w it uses rear sump.

P.S. I reposted the pictures I aslo posted a pic off the main bearings and you can see how big they are compared to a 302.

Now to give you correct infothey are both front sumps how esle is thedist. going to drive the oil pump.Now the reason why a 302 pan wont work on your windsor is that a 302 has smaller mains then a 351 which has 3 inch mains so the pan on a 302 is not deep enough at the the middle and will not fit over the main caps.Alsothe oil pump on a 351 is a bit taller then a pump for a 302.So theres the reason you need a conversion pan for for 351 swap.Which has a part number just recently posted below in another post about this, an there I posted a picture.
