Default EFI or carb

i am having trouble deciding if i want to go fuel injection or carb.
my mechanic thinks a carbed engine would be alot easier to tune.
my mustang buddies say EFI all the way.
money is not really an issue because this is gonna be a slow build anyway.
i have always loved the look of duel 4 barrels.

let me know the ups and downs of both setups.

in my stupid opinion if you are going for a turbo or supercharged then definately efi but if you are going for some natural power then carb all the way

heres a quote from one of our members...to help ya out.

ORIGINAL: P Zero

I say go for carbs. It costs WAY less for a GOOD intake and carb setup than it does for a comprable EFI setup. Like im talkin thousands less.
Carbs pro's- Cheap, reliable, easy to work with, clean up engine bay nicely, lots of inexpensive intakes cheaper roots style superchargers..
Cons- Tuning can be a bitch (depending on carb brand), gas milage suffers a wee bit.

EFI Pro's- Gas milage, easier tuning (but MUCH more expensive), runs better when cold, better for turbo's, reliable.
CONS: PRICE, for your model - tuning is a bitch youd probably need an aftermarket engine management system, messy engine compartment. Intakes alone cost MUCH more than an intake and carb together (for comprable performance).
-P.

I love my carb. sometimes. I had 3 other foxbodys with fi. If you get a carb like a RACE HP 750 they can be handful to tune also. Mine does not have a choke horn and i am not running vacuum advance on my dizzy so sometimes it is a pain. Believe it or not (i did not) weather and humidity affects how carb runs. IF you do run a big cam like i do it will idle better without power brakes pulling vacuum, that is what i run.http://s194.photobucket.com/albums/z112/keithswearingen/?action=view¤t=c3a71cc9.pbw

well 4 me i just got a 351 and im going carb cuz its cheaper and ezer to tune , on top of that im not the riches guy and just spent all my money on a body job , so if i go efi the 351 wont fit under the hood unless i drop the mounts so in my case carb allll the way ... but thats me
