Default 351 capri?

so im a wicked noob to capri's but from the looks of things its all the same as the stang or pretty close. however on my daily drive out to my local auto wreckers i spotted a early 80's capri sittin all alone, so i walked up to it and saw it was a 5.0,sweet, then continued on my journy around the wreckers and saw a truck with the 351 i believe it was a modified but hopefully its a windsor, anywho the guy wanted a bout 3hundy for the car and 2hundy for the 351. so what do you guys think maybe it'll be a good project to work on at work cause i get unlimited access to the shop and parts for CRAZY cheap, or should i just hold off and see if theres a mustang available or maybe a 351w.

Where you at? If the Capri's in good shape get it. Theyre almost identical to a mustang, just a few different body panels. And if you wanna get teh 351 get it. The 302 in there is more than capable of putting down some good numbers.

thanks man, the capri's in really good shape just some surface rust, but do you think that its worth the 351 or is the 302 gonna give me close to the same results.

it just depends on how much power your looking to put down but the 351 will help you get there faster with the extra cubes

Not really a tough choice, get the capri you can work on it in the rain and drive it in the rain, you could do it with a bike to but what fun is being wet and cold doing 80mph?

true dat ****, but im sure that i couldn't drive this capri in the rain, lol. i still have that truck so i could go either way with this. but from excpereince what do you think is the best choice for my situation (unlimited shop access and tools, wicked cheap parts) or get bike, damn choices.

The Capri is a Mustang with a hump backSecond, Windsors are great, thus the newly dedicated sectionTranny's are plentiful, you can bolt up a stick, or an automatic with minimal effort. If you want to stay with a manual you could go towards a C-4 and basically option it towards how you want to drive and it will offer you enough stretching room to build on your motor and still be able to handle the power. That would be the way I would go. And good C-4 folks are all over the place.
