351M is modified Windsor blockwith taller Cleveland type heads. So only a 351W would work on a 351M. Cleveland has
it's own block and head combination. Clevelamd heads were used on the 302 Boss Motors , as only a few modifications were needed
in the placement of water holes in the block and heads. Someone correct me if wrong, not much after market stuff out there to get excited about a 351M, but it had lots of low end torque, and was used in the trucks very successfully.

A 351c oil pan will indeed work on a 351m. I have used many 351m rear sump oil pans on a 351c engine in 4x4 trucks. 351w oil pans wil NOT work on a 351m.

i got another question..this is proly gonna make me sound really stupid...but i need a rear sump oil pan i believe for the 351m

now when they say (sump) is that the big bulky hump? or is the the (sump) the way that it slopes? cuz wat is confusing me is i found an oil pan and from the pic it seems like the (sump) or the big buly boxy part is in the rear of the oil pan which i would think woul dmake it a rear sump oil pan...and wat i would need...but it says its a front sump oil pan..so it could be that possibly its not the same oil pan pictured...i know this is proly a stupid question but i jsut wana make sure before i waste ne more money lol
